Hello,
My name is Shemar. Welcome to my little corner of the web.
A Glimpse of Me and My Work
I’m a storyteller interested in health, sustainability, and social justice. Through my writing and diverse skill set, I aim to drive meaningful change. Explore some of my work below.

The Phoenix
I covered a group of medical students who dance, sing, and rap their way through the halls of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Their performances highlight their experiences in med school while also raising awareness about physician burnout and how to prevent it.

Cooper Studios
I co-webmastered this class newspaper, helping design the site, optimizing the layout for readability, and regularly checking to ensure everything ran smoothly. Feel free to check out some of the stories — there are some great reads on there!

The Violet Underground
I explored the indie gaming subculture, and the story I wrote dives into Boshi’s Place, an indie gaming hub in Brooklyn where creators can showcase their games in a welcoming and inclusive space. If you’re curious about the venue (or want to play some of their games), definitely check it out.
